Sara Lynn Evans grew up on a Missouri farm as the youngest of seven children. Sara Lynn Evans was born in 1971. Sara Lynn Evans has been singing with the family band since she was 5 years old. When she was sixteen she began performing at an evening club near Columbia Missouri a gig that ran for 2 years. Then she made the move to Nashville Tennessee in 1991 with the goal of becoming a singer-songwriter. Sara has been heard sing Tiger By the Tail by Harlan Howard at County Q Studios. Harlan Howard then made the decision that Sara would sing his song. RCA signed her to a contract. Evans was the first artist to release her debut release Three Chords and the Truth was released in 1997. It received praise from critics for returning to the traditional style of country music and was featured on numerous charts of the top 10 albums of 1997.
